Helgelandsbase awarded contract with BP and Statoil
Helgelandsbase AS has signed a contract with BP and Statoil to build a new subsea workshop and warehouse in Sandnessjøen. The contract involves investments in construction of about 150 million NOK and will be completed in the autumn of 2015.
"We are very pleased to have won the tender for the subsea workshop and warehouse. The duration of the contract is 20 years, giving Helgelandsbase the possibility to look ahead and initiate long term efforts. The establishment of the subsea facility in Sandnessjøen is also positive with regard to ripple effects for local suppliers", says CEO of Helgelandsbase, Jann Greger Winsents.
The new subsea facility will serve the companies installations in the region, BP’s Skarv and Statoil's Skuld, and the upcoming field development Aasta Hansteen. The facility to be established comprises a site area of 24.000 square meters and buildings consisting of workshops, warehouses and offices totaling 7080 square meters.
With this investment, Helgelandsbase’s total investment in Horvnes is close to 900 million NOK.
