NorSea Group awarded new Pipe Handling Contract
Statoil has awarded NorSea Group a new Pipe Handling Contract in connection to the development of the Valemon field
The contract includes Transshipment, Temporary Storage and Handling of approximately 30 km of 22 inches of Concrete Weight Coated Pipes, in total 17.500 ton.
The pipes will be transshipped from Bredero Shaw`s Coating Factory in Leith, Scotland to Stordbase in Norway for Temporary Storage before Load Out to PSV`s and Transshippment to Lay Barge.
"This is an important contract for us, and we are very excited to have been chosen as partner in this project," says Stig Holgersen, Manager for the Project Department in NorSea Group. "We thank Statoil for renewed trust, and look forward to start-up."
For NorSea Group the Load In operation at Stordbase begins in mid December 2012.
The pipeline is expected to be finalised in the course of third quarter 2013.
Valemon was discovered back in 1985. The field is located between Kvitebjørn and Gullfaks. Valemon is now being develped as a platform for separation of gas, condensate and water. Production start for Valemon is 2014 and Statoil is the Field Development Operator.
